I'm delivering a round bale net next week and I'll be sure to take some pics :) I'll take a pic of the regular kind either tonight or tomorrow when I feed.

No, there is no metal ring at the bottom =)

I was looking for a way to make them safe to just put out in the paddock without having to tie them up like a traditional hay net. I thought of using a metal ring for the 'cinch' but i wouldn't want her to bonk herself in the face with that lol

My newest approach is to either cut or replace the 'cinch' rope with a piece of baler twine or hemp, just long enough to tie it shut. It needs to be strong enough to keep the net closed, and short enough that in the case where if it DID come untied, the horse can't get the cinch rope tangled around a foot.

My Farrier brought some in for her customers from the USA that has a 2 inch metal ring at the bottom and the top has a double poly rope cinch closure.

They look very much like the ones you are making but yours are MADE IN CANADA cool1
There definately is a need and market for them. cheers

ha - i wonder.. my dad has been distributing into the states and back east for years.. not sure if he ever used a metal ring tho. It'd be pretty funny if those were his nets come back again laugh

We can easily ship as well. (buyer pays shipping)

cheers

Thanks Raven =) clapping

Great Balls Of ... Hay?

So I made a 'Hay Ball' for Shea. I can see it would get annoying to have to put a new cinch in each time, but it works great =) I posted a video on youtube.. here is the link if anyone is interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7qavUuDvMs I just checked on her and shes at the other end of the paddock with it now =P

tiphat

and they are nylon =) so it is safe to soak hay in them.

do you have a photo of the round bale size? We use round bales, and I'm sure this would help a ton over the winter... LOL
